II Barcelona Football Tryout
The 2nd Barcelona Football Tryout edition was an event organized to explore young football talents from all over the world. It was held from 18 to 22 of December, 2018 at the sports complex El Collell.
In this second edition, attended 13 participants from 8 different countries: Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay, Colombia, Peru, Morocco and Spain. The players were accommodated at the El Collell sports complex, and every day they used their excellent training facilities. They could also enjoy its magnificent location in a privileged environment of 150 hectares of nature, where you can practice sports, breathe fresh air away from the city.
During the 5 days, clubs and football agents came to scout the football players skills. In this edition, we had the collaboration of two young local coaches who have already participated in the 1st edition: Jordi Arau and Joel Olivet. They were responsible for planning and directing the daily training sessions that took place every morning.
In the afternoon, the Football Forward team traveled to different cities of the area to get to know Spanish football in the first person. Two friendly matches were played, the first against CEF Bosc of Tosca and the second against FC Sant Jaume de Llierca (UE Olot B). Also, another evening we moved to the city of Figueres, to get up close and personal with one of the historic clubs in Spain: the UE Figueres. The players before performing a joint training with their youth team (u18), could make a tour for their facilities, knowing a little more their history and successes and had the opportunity to attend talks by coordinators, coaches and players of their own club that now play in the 4th Spanish Division.
During the days in the sports complex, we received the visit of several people linked in the world of football (coaches, football agents and sports directors) who made presentations to give basic and important information to our players.
Some of the participants in this second edition have had the opportunity to achieve the dream of their lives, and have now left their countries to play in Spanish teams. Others, who were already playing here, have been able to sign for teams of higher category.
