4th Barcelona Football Tryout
The 4th Barcelona Football Tryout Edition, was an event organized to explore young football talents from around the world. It was held from December 17 to 21, 2019 in the city of Olot.
In this fourth edition, 18 participants from 10 different nationalities attended: Argentina, Mauritania, Cape Verde, Paraguay, Brazil, Colombia, Romania, Venezuela, Morocco and Spain. The players were staying at the Hotel La Perla (Olot) and every day they used the excellent facilities of the city club, UE Olot (professional team that plays in the 3th Spanish Division).
During the 5 days, football clubs and agents from the area attended to scout the football players. For this edition, we have the collaboration of several prominent local coaches: Albert Carbó (current coach of the Peralada CF of the Spanish 4th Division), Carles Virolés (coordinator and coach of the UE Quart formative football), Jordi Arau (ex former coach of the formative football of the UE Figueres), Narcís Barrera (football player in the 4th Spanish Division with UA Horta), Hipólito Rodríguez (coach of the formative football of the UE Quart) and Xavier Serramitja (coach in the Barça Academy). In addition, Joel Olivet (coach of the formative football of the UE Olot) was present in all the sessions, collaborating with all the coaches. On the other hand, Hector Simón, captain of the UE Olot, and former professional player of teams such as Espanyol, Girona, Oviedo, Sabadell, among others, shared his experience in professional football and taught some basic notions of sports coaching.
In the afternoon, the combined Football Forward moved to different places in the area to be able to meet Spanish football in the first person. 2 friendly matches were played, the first against PE Montagut and the second against the CF Les Planes youth team. During the event, we received the visit of several related people in the world of football (coaches, representatives and sports directors) who made presentations to give basic and important information to our players.
